White Carrara is a very popular marble we see in many Pittsburgh homes. We love the classic clean look of White Carrara for floors, counters, and showers. But we do have some recommendations for this stone. I know everyone loves shiny and that’s great but for most White Carrara we prefer a honed flat look vs a shiny finish. Why? Well the maintenance is much lower and in my personal opinion the stone looks so much better honed. New York City has seen a popularity of White Carrara counter tops and they are becoming more and more popular in Pittsburgh as well.
But then reality sets in and you need be able to live with your counters as well. That’s when a honed look can save the day. But it’s really up you!
“As with many of the popular marbles, the true marble from Carrara is often imitated by marble from other places, which may be called ‘Carrara’. For example a white marble with similar dark veins comes from Turkey and may be labelled ‘Carrara’ at least to give people an idea of its appearance, if not in an attempt to pass it off as true Carrara marble.
